I’D LIKE TO INTRODUCE MYSELF AND SHARE MY STORY.

Marissa Axell is the founder of AXN Fitness and Coaching, helping her athletes become badass cyclists by showing them how to become stronger, ride further, and reclaim their mojo all while training less.

After working with Marissa’s unique coaching, her clients experience what it’s like to climb stronger, ride faster and further with more ease, they feel more accomplished, in short: more badass.

Additionally, they know exactly how to fuel for performance and when to rest, both are required for optimal results!

Her clients have said, “I lost fat by following the training and nutrition advice of my program.” -- “my friends asked if I electrified my bike, I was so much faster on the hills!” -- After adopting this new program, I”m waking up with energy again!”

Marissa has been coaching and personal training her athletes since 2008. She’s a category 1 cyclist, and holds an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Willamette University. She holds certifications for nutrition, personal training, and Retul bike fit.

Since reading “Roar” by Dr. Stacy Sims 5+ years ago, Marissa is on a mission to make sure women over 40 learn the new rules and find support for training and achieving cycling goals!

Because everything transitions to a new biological state, she shows her athletes how to adapt by implementing a new way of training, fueling, and rest required for success, working with your new body, and not against it.

Marissa firmly believes in using education and action to rise above menopause and aging related challenges, to keep enjoying an active healthy lifestyle with passion, science and persistence.

And if she can help just one more person to take action toward building the life they love, then her mission here is complete!

IF THIS RESONATES WITH YOU - send her an email or DM!

Together we’ll create more badass cyclists, more autonomy, and better visibility for women in this world.

Our Pledge To Anti-Racism

Anti-racist: those who speak and act in ways that advance racial equity in society; the act of interrupting racism.

In June of 2020, I took the Anti-Racist Small Business Pledge and take diversity, equity and inclusion seriously. At my very core, I believe that humans all want and deserve the same love, respect and opportunity, regardless of their station in life.  As part of my pledge, I name the white supremacy systems and the impact of racism everywhere. It is in my core values as a person and in my business to work towards eradicate racist systems, especially in the cycling industry.

I’ve hired anti-racism coaching for myself this quarter to actively work toward bringing my business closer to my core values.

I commit to openly discussing racism and allow for discomfort and unlearning. However, hate speech will not be tolerated, period.

I’ve committed to spending at least 30% of my budget with Black owned businesses, and am constantly researching ways to commit to doing even more.

I’ve just started on this journey, and will be on it for the rest of my life. Diversity, equity and inclusion are core values that guide the decisions of me and my small business.
